MariHacks is Quebec's first and largest annual 2-day hackathon for CEGEP and high school students, hosted at Marianopolis College. We bring together over 200 young developers and technology enthusiasts to create revolutionary software projects in just 24 hours! Meet fellow hackers, learn new technologies, and hone your skills alongside amazing mentors.

Whether you're coding your first-ever app or have lots of experience, join us for an amazing day of hacking! We thrive to foster an encouraging, beginner-friendly learning environment and to introduce new programmers to the field of software development.

Dates

The 9th edition of MariHacks, MariHacks IX, will be held from Friday, April 17th to Saturday, April 18th.

Eligibility

Judging Criteria

  • Originality
Is the hack more than just another generic social/mobile/local app? Does it do something entirely novel, or at least take a fresh approach to an old problem?
  • Technical Difficulty
Regardless of programming experience, did the participants challenge themselves technically? Is the hack impressive when considering the time constraints, and their existing level of programming experience?
  • Usefulness
Does the project address a significant problem and provide a practical solution?
  • Polish
Is the hack usable in its current state? Is the user experience smooth? Does everything appear to work? Is it well designed?
  • Wow Factor
Does the hack make the public go "Wow!"? This criterion takes into account the visual appeal, creativity, and the level of innovation demonstrated by the hack.
